Congratulations on being selected to represent your Region at the All-Ontario Showcase! North Bay, and the Northern Region are proud to play host to the 66th annual showcase at the beautiful Capitol Centre in the heart of downtown North Bay, May 9th to 12th, 2012.
We have an enthusiastic committee working on all areas of the festival. Please see the Registration page which outlines the steps to take to register for the festival. Please read the material carefully and complete and return the required forms as soon as possible to Allison Green at greena@nearnorthschools.ca. She will then forward your information to all the necessary parties to make the festival run as smoothy as possible.
General Information:
The Festival runs Wednesday, May 9 to Saturday, May 12th, with all performances taking place at the Capitol Centre in downtown North Bay. All workshops will take place at Nipissing University. All participants will be accommodated in Nipissing's residence and we hope all participants will be staying the entire festival.
The travel distance between Nipissing University and the downtown area and the Capitol Centre is a 10 minute ride by bus. Parking for school or charter buses, as well as trucks for set transportation, will easily be available at Nipissing and, though more difficult downtown, in areas marked around the theatre. If schools are struggling with the cost of busing for the entire festival, please ask us for help with regard to local bus or public transportation options.
Showcase registration will take place Wednesday May 9th on the main floor of Chancellors House Residence. Arrangements will be made, if you are performing Wednesday night, to coordinate your registration around your technical rehearsal time-slot. Registration and Check-In will begin at 3:00 p.m. Plan at least an hour to register, sign into residence, and settle in. Chancellors House Residence will be Festival Central. This is the place to get all information, schedule updates, have your photo ID taken, pick up your participant gifts, confirm workshop information, and get help from our Festival Ambassadors.
